I’m Cyrus Robinson, VP of Security Operations, and this is The People Behind C3.
What should people understand about the world of cybersecurity and compliance?
The threat landscape has evolved with more sophisticated and capable threat actors, including ransomware-as-a-service groups and advanced persistent threats. We’ve seen an increase in the exploitation of zero-days, supply chain attacks, and sophisticated multi-year campaigns.
What makes your team unique?
We understand that solving the cybersecurity skills gap requires companies to invest in training and equipping the next generation of cybersecurity professionals. That’s why we’ve relied heavily on our SOC Analyst Internship Program for hiring and recruiting. Our entire SecOps team is involved in that training process. Our SOC Analyst Internship Program prioritizes
opportunities for veterans, people from nontraditional career paths, and underrepresented groups. We’ve seen our interns go on to establish very successful careers in the industry.
What excited you the most about the future of C3?
I’m most excited about the growth and opportunity that lies ahead and doing hard things that matter. We have a world-class team of cybersecurity professionals providing IT and cybersecurity services to a diverse client base. We’re at the forefront of solving some really difficult compliance challenges that are necessary to protect our nation from cyber adversaries.
What changes do you hope to see within the industry?
I believe that increasing diversity within the cybersecurity workforce is of vital importance. A diverse range of perspectives and lived experiences is crucial for innovation and problem-solving in cybersecurity. By actively promoting and supporting the participation of underrepresented groups, we can ensure our strategies and solutions reflect a broader range of experiences, leading to more effective cybersecurity.
I would also like to see cybersecurity become more integrated into the fabric of every organization. It shouldn’t just be treated as a technical issue but as a critical component of business operations.
What does C3’s core value “Team Human” mean to you?
Team Human is definitely the C3 core value that resonates most with me. Our SOC has a “people first, mission always” philosophy. We recognize that each of us matters as a person, as an individual with unique needs, motivations, and goals. We work together to support one another while remaining committed to ensuring that our clients are secure from cyber threats. This truly aligns with C3’s Team Human core value.
